Why do Yoga at Manual Works?

At Manual works, our yoga teachers specialize in therapeutic yoga practices.  With a focus on pain-free yoga, they are also experienced in rehab practices that ensure safety.

Our yoga teachers know how your body works and are dedicated to helping you get back to your baseline level of movement.  As part of our rehabilitation team, they guide you in moving towards a healthier you.

What is therapeutic yoga?

At Manual Works, we offer the following yoga practices in private, semi-private, or small group sessions:

REHAB YOGA is perfect if you want to try yoga for the first time or are looking for a movement class that complements your current physiotherapy regime.  These sessions combine gentle yoga poses with breathing exercises, restorative postures, and dynamic movement to stretch and strengthen your body, reduce stress, calm the mind and work through any body imbalances.

YIN YOGA targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. It is a great complement to more dynamic and active forms of physical therapy.  Yin postures are held for 3-5 minutes so the body is able to open and release tension from deeper tissues.  Working with your body’s energy, Yin Yoga practice clears blockages in meridians, increases the flow of prana or Chi, improves the health of your organs and increases energy promoting your overall sense of well-being.
