What is sports physiotherapy?
A sports physiotherapist works on both professional athletes and everyday casual exercisers as well. What sets sports physiotherapists apart from a traditional physiotherapist is their expertise in areas such as athletic taping, protective equipment, emergency care, concussion management, and individualized exercise plans.
Sports physiotherapy itself involves carefully planned exercises that are catered to treat patient specific issues. This minimizes the risk of re-injury.
Why choose Manual Works for sports physiotherapy?
In Canada there are hundreds of physiotherapists that work with sports injuries so you’re probably thinking – what’s so special about Manual Works?
Open sessions. Open environment.
Our sessions aren’t timed like many clinics out there. The therapist works one-on-one with you directly, to help with exercises and whatever else is needed.
Although each case is unique, you are typically in our open concept physio area for about an hour. This openness creates a support group amongst patients, and the physiotherapist is in the room the entire time to supervise and help if needed.
Athletes helping athletes.
Our experts understand what you’re going through because they’re athletes themselves. All our therapists have worked at a sports medicine clinic and most of our patients are athletes.
