Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture has existed for hundreds of years.  Originating in China, this form of therapy has grown in popularity in use for encouraging natural healing, stress and pain relief and improving general mood and well-being.

How does acupuncture work?

Qualified therapists administer acupuncture by gently inserting thin flexible needles to specific areas on your body.  These needles are strategically inserted to specific points on your body and are left in place for a pre-determined length of time.  The goal is to create a therapeutic effect, remove discomfort, pain and stress.

What conditions can be treated with acupuncture?

At Manual Works, our physiotherapists, massage therapists, and chiropractors are highly trained and experienced in using acupuncture as part of their therapeutic treatment.  Acupuncture is a therapeutic intervention or technique that cannot be separated from the purpose of its application.  That is, it can be used treat specific health dysfunctions like musculoskeletal pain, movement disorders, sports injuries, functional problems, problems of dysregulation, headaches, stress-related disorders, or chronic pain.
