What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a form of therapy that has existed for hundreds of years. The therapy is administered by a qualified therapist who gently inserts thin flexible needles to specific areas on the body.
Although originally conceived in China, acupuncture’s popularity has spread to North America and has been used to encourage natural healing, stress and pain relief, and to improve general mood and well being.
How does Acupuncture work?
Your therapist strategically inserts several needles to specific points on your body and leaves them in place for a pre-determined period of time. The goal of the therapy is to create a therapeutic effect, remove discomfort, pain, and stress.
What are some conditions that can be treated by Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is not a medical system, nor a substitute for medical knowledge, nor an entity on to itself. Acupuncture is a therapeutic intervention (a technique) that cannot be separated from the applications for which it is used, treating specific health dysfunctions (i.e., musculoskeletal pain, movement disorders, sports injuries, functional problems, problems of dysregulation, headaches, stress-related disorders, chronic pain, etc.).
