Active Release Therapy®
What is Active Release Techniques® (ART®) ?
Active Release Therapy, also known as ART®, is a technique used to treat soft tissue injuries and issues with fascia, ligaments, muscles, nerves, and tendons. The therapy originated from the study of athletes and biomechanics and was originally used to tend to sports injuries.
Since its inception, Active Release Therapy® has grown in popularity and has been used to treat athletes as well as non-athletes suffering from overused muscle conditions.
What can I expect from an Active Release Therapy® session at Manual Works?
Active Release Therapy® is a big component of any chiropractic treatment at our clinic. We will spend an entire session with you (our chiropractors don’t jump from room to room) and administer the therapy.
We will examine the area of concern for things like texture and muscle tightness, and then use their hands to apply a movement based massage to treat the problems associated with the muscle, tendons, ligaments and nerves.
Following Active Release Therapy®, Acupuncture may be applied depending on the patient’s needs.
