Active Release Therapy®
What is Active Release Techniques® (ART®) ?
Active Release Techniques® (also known as ART®) treats soft tissue injuries and issues with fascia, ligaments, muscles, nerves and tendons. It originated in studies of athletes and biomechanics and the treatment of sports injuries. ART® has since become popular in treatments for athletes and non-athletes suffering from overused muscle conditions.
What can I expect from an ART® session at Manual Works?
At Manual Works, ART® is a major part of chiropractic care. Our chiropractors spend an entire session with you for therapy. The area of concern is examined for texture and muscle tightness and other aspects of your condition. Our chiropractors then apply a movement-based hand massage consistent with ART® to treat problems associated with muscle, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Acupuncture may also be applied depending on your individual needs.
